Wellness is a state of balance between the
           spiritual, physical, and mental/emotional "bodies".

No matter how persistent the attempts to push down emotions and pain, they will always find a way to express themselves.  If there is no other outlet, the body will “communicate” the emotions that have been unexpressed.

There is a direct and continuous correlation between the mind and the body, one constantly affecting the other. The condition of the mind and body will ‘express itself’ through the other. Emotions easily manifest in the body. You can help heal the body quite effectively through understanding the emotions involved. In turn, a physical condition can intensely affect one’s mental and emotional state. Pain and illness can cause deep depression, anxiety, stress, fear and loss. These emotions will deplete the body of its healing process rather than strengthen and support it. Painful conditions permeate into every area of one’s life and alter the sense of security, confidence and trust. Pain can diminish a person’s ability to experience feelings of fulfillment, comfort, satisfaction and joy.

Whether it be the experience of emotional pain or physical pain, it is always important to give attention to both and explore what the body and the mind might be trying to express for the other. Sometimes it is difficult to find answers, to know clearly what is happening to the physical, emotional or mental areas of our beings – a direct connection to the core problem might be challenging or blocked. An effective way to discover the true issues underlying what one is experiencing is to look at what is happening with the other areas of one’s being, the areas that may seem separate than the ‘problem’. If you are in emotional turmoil, notice how your body is feeling. If you have a physical condition, explore the emotions and thoughts you have been experiencing. The whole of your being will communicate to you what it needs, why it feels the way it does.  This is how self awareness develops into a powerful and supportive asset in your life.
